Speaking on the video, Hey Beautiful Jerk states: "The initial inspiration for Frank and the concept for ‘In The Ruins’  came to me when I was in the ER for 10 hours with the worst eye infection of my life. The pain was so bad it felt like my eye was revolting and wanted to escape my head.”

Speaking on the song's meaning, vocalist Spencer Timmons explains: “Everybody just wants to take a chunk out of you for themselves. Those who profess to love you want a piece to legitimize themselves by proximity, while those who hate you just want whatever they can carve out of you for the sake of spite.

“Everybody's Got a Plan’ has always been one of my favorite songs on Cursum Perficio,” Benante says. “The video basically shows the band on and off stage in a montage of video clips that kinda matches the velocity of the song.  ‘Everybody's got a plan/That’s until they get punched in the face’ is such a great line, and so true!”

For more than a decade, Sydney guitarist and composer James Ivanyi has quietly built one of the most respected catalogues in Australia's instrumental music scene. While much of the modern progressive world has chased technicality for technicality's sake, Ivanyi has carved out his own lane.

THE RISING TIDE was written about this weird, intense and intimate scene and what it means to be part of it. KEEPS ME ALIVE is very much about being an immigrant. Especially being Sri Lankan and brown. Being Lankan is such an important part of who we are.

"Since its conception, Horizon has always been a very special song for us. It's a song about a hopeful future, the beauty found in life's simplest moments, and appreciating what we have before it fades. Reimagining this track in a way that lets its beauty breathe, while allowing the lyrics to shine - almost like a lullaby - felt like a natural step.”

On "BIG NOTER", Briggs says: “This self-titled song paints the picture of the ultimate punish of an individual. It’s the neighbourhood bully’s anthem. It’s completely satirical; it bears no resemblance to any person you, Joe or I know.”

"Blur" thematically explores desperate hope and connection, detailing the relief of reciprocated affection alongside the complications and strain of a long distance relationship. It's about the push and pull between closeness and absence and the constant struggle between stability and the fear of falling.

"The Edge of a Dream explores the unfortunate tension of craving rest but being unable to surrender to it," says singer Dana Willax. "It's about chasing peace when your mind refuses to be quiet, and not being able to cross that line from consciousness to a dream world."
