We’ve been through so much shit the past years. Buried under one pile after the other. “Watch As We Rise” is a releasing song that fills you with power and determination through heavy chugging and in your face vocals.”

"Hand Me A Halo tells the self-narrative of losing one's sense of self and dealing with the intrusive thoughts that come with it," says Benton. "This song came from our own confusion and loss of identity through the changing seasons of life. The fear can be constant, leaving you to question if you just want someone to hand you a halo."

Frontman and Sigh mastermind Mirai Kawashima said “Honestly, I have no idea at all how the song sounds to other people. Shuffle is the world-widely used rhythm and Japan is no exception. I've been using this rhythm in the songs like "Shikigami", "Ecstatic Transformation", and "Midnight Sun" but I guess I have completed my own Japanese style on "Unputenpu".

"This song encapsulates the overarching theme of the Dark Asylum. What if you don't need to look outside of yourself to find peace and happiness... What if you already possess the power you need to heal and create the reality you want to see? What if we are all magical, powerful beings with unlimited potential? It's a mind boggling thought…"

"Dark Cloudswas the song that truly forged the identity of Last Rites" says founding member, Hidden Intent frontman, Chris McThrashy. "It became the benchmark for where we wanted to take the band's sound, melding soaring melodies with crushing modern metal. Lyrically, it explores the shadows we all face and the choice between surrendering to them or standing your ground when the storm rolls in."

“Reborn’ continues the narrative arc begun with ‘The One’, with bright light manifesting a rebirth after dark. As Samwise Gamgee said, ‘Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.’ On this track, vocalist Giada ‘Jade’ Etro’s voice takes some melancholic shades in the verses that find a great contrast in the powerful and cheerful anthemic choruses, running on a more straightforward, hard-and-heavy-inspired rhythm.”

The music video for their new track YRA / EXTAS is set in present‑day Stockholm, Sweden. Inspired by real criminal cases, the video follows a single mother living on the fringes of society as she confronts her inner demons, self‑destructive impulses, and downward spiral toward the absolute abyss.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard unveil the title track from their forthcoming 28th album, Alien Metal, which will be released later this year via p(doom) Records. This week they announced a short run of Australian dates in October, which includes a takeover of the Croxton Block Party, as well as three NSW shows. 

On the story behind ‘RATS’, Frontman/lyricist Ruairi Burns explains “The lyrics took inspiration, in part, from the pamphlets by The Church of the SubGenious. They were a bizarre parody religion that would publish what were essentially zines, full of satirical religious phrases like “eternal salvation or triple your money back” or “The World Ends Tomorrow and YOU MAY DIE!”.

In contrast to its title, ‘Dogtooth’ is a love song. Vocalist Lily Keenan explains, “It’s about loving everything, the imperfections, the details, right down to their canines. What does it mean to love someone like a dog? Devotion, obsession maybe, or maybe just becoming something that can love without embarrassment. Dogtooth is a song that treats falling in love like a minor supernatural event.” 

Equal parts tongue-in-cheek and surprisingly timely, 'I Love My Robot' offers a witty take on life in an increasingly algorithm-driven world. Beneath its infectious energy and B-movie charm, the song celebrates imagination, individuality, and the simple joy of thinking for yourself.

Leading the charge is the album’s focus single, 'Don't MisStep.' At just 1:34, it’s a lightning-fast, hard-hitting reminder that the band hasn't slowed down a bit. Delivering the exact high-octane energy MADBALL is famous for, it's a track practically built for 2-steps and floorpunches

Hot on the heels of their latest album, The Ariba War Honkle, which debuted on the ARIA Australian Artist Chart at #5, Frankenbok return with “Casualty,” a hard-hitting single that transforms raw heaviness into a powerful metaphor for emotional exploitation.

“There are so many fun riffs to play on Eyes Closed. It felt incredible to scream it out and let go. The song was written from the ground up with Jordan, and the moment it was a demo, we knew we had something special.”  

“In ancient Japan, there was a special type of arrow called a 'Kaburaya' which was traditionally used to signal the beginning of a battle. The title ‘HANAKABURA’ is our own original word, inspired by the image of a Kaburaya arrow cutting through falling cherry blossom petals. We feel it is the perfect song to mark the beginning of our own battle and a new chapter for the band."
