“Dead Shadows felt like the right first single after a few years away, it sits right in that space between where we’ve come from and where we’re heading, and it really lets Jas’ vocals shine."

Clocking in at just 1:01, "The Sword" doesn’t waste a single second getting to the point. Driven by a rapid-fire rhythm section and a chugging backbone, the track is unrelenting. While much of the EP leans into darker, more personal territory, "The Sword" stands out as one of its more outwardly uplifting offerings.

German progressive metal masters OBSCURA have officially shifted into high gear with a double-pronged assault on the global metal scene. Ahead of their The Sun Eater Asia tour—which kicks off on May 1—the band has unleashed a brand-new music video for the track 'The Sun Eater,' perfectly capturing the technical precision and atmosphere of their live show.

To coincide the album’s release, is a brand spanking new single and video for their about to be shindig hit ‘Party In The Sky’. A tale of guitarist and scrabble shark Ned Smelly’s passion for guzzling grog on flights and expertly making the time whizz by.

Frontman Marcus Bridge opens up about the track: “Evian is about self-improvement through confronting trauma then finding your way back to someone from a healthier place. It explores the choice to grow on your own rather than dragging others down with you, making a conscious effort to heal before your struggles start affecting the people you care about.” 

“I’ve played Diablo for years, so getting to step into that world creatively felt natural,” said Jonathan Davis, Korn frontman. “I’ve always connected to the darkness in the game and the idea of confronting what lives beneath the surface –– that’s something Korn has explored in our music from the beginning.”

"Sonic Salvation was the first song I wrote for Season of Surrender," says Brubaker. "I set out to write a song that created more space for Jake vocally and leaned a little more into our hardcore influences. I love how this song came out and Jamie's guest vocal really takes it over the top for me."

"I have always been interested in the sort of ethical dilemma that we have culturally of cheering for justice. I thought it would be an interesting exercise to write lyrics from the perspective of someone who is trying to seek out the ultimate form of justice.”

Shagrath comments on the track: " Musically, 'Ascent' is more ferocious and direct than the first single, 'Ulvgjeld & Blodsødel.' Together, the two tracks showcase the musical scope of the album in a great way. From the outset, we’ve said that Grand Serpent Rising stands as one of our most diverse records to date, and these songs underline exactly that."

On partnering with RinRin, the band offers, "When we finished the last record, we were really excited about the idea of collaborating with other artists on our new music since we'd never done that before. RinRin made the most sense to us as someone who has worked with Chris [Lalic] for years.

Destruction of the Healer return with ‘Bestial Hunger’, the first single from their upcoming full-length record ‘A Universe Bereaved’, due out in full July 9th. This first single marks a decisive move for the band into a more brutal and technical sound, a dense, suffocating instrumentation delivered with precision, intensity, and an unfiltered edge.

‘This Is The Way’ is a fun Mandalorian inspired track written about the franchise, to help build some Perth grass roots hype towards the release of live action feature The Mandalorian and Grogu being released on May 22.

"Contest" is a stripped-back sorrowful love song that lyrically navigates the realities of loving someone struggling with depression. Its bare instrumentation amplifies the melancholic nature of the lyrics, which tackle the exhaustion, guilt, and hidden hurt that grows when love becomes entangled with mental health.
