XMusic are proud to announce Brisbane’s Runt as the latest signing to their every growing roster.

Runt is built around lead guitarist / singer songwriter Jesse Attard, who after years touring the UK and Europe as a hired gun for international artists has turned his focus to his own material.

While working on the road, Attard quietly amassed a large catalogue of songs that now form the backbone of Runt and the time has come to bring that music to life with a lineup of like-minded players including John Dempsey (guitar & backing vocals), Damian Bell (bass) and Robbie Wheeler (drums).

Drawing on the darker end of ‘90s alternative rock and grunge, Runt’s sound leans into the weight and atmosphere of bands like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots, delivered with a modern edge and a clear emphasis on strong songwriting rather than studio trickery.

The bands first single, Forever, is out now. Attard says that "it's about struggling with vices whatever that might be and the compulsiveness that comes along with them. Forever is a bit of a cartoonish take of someone giving into it and losing the plot a bit.”

Runt has quickly developed a reputation around Brisbane for their tight, no-nonsense live shows where the material is allowed to speak for itself; heavy, melodic and direct.

With Forever out now and a full album currently in the works for 2026, Runt have introduced themselves as a band built on experience, strong songs and a clear identity.
