“This is the heaviest song on the record but it almost sounds like a party. At least that was the goal,” shares guitarist Chad Gilbert. “It's about an old venue we used to play when we first started. We'd play there pretty much every weekend. It was a lot of hardcore bands.”

“This song hurts in the most beautiful way. Bittersweet, slow, tough, like big waves in slow motion, hard and yet so melodic. Music like this is the best example that melancholy, at least for me, is a beautiful feeling that I can wrap myself in like a blanket when I feel like it. In addition, ‘Winter’s Dying Heart’ has a clear reference to real events, packaged in a modern fairy tale.

Commenting on the song and video, vocalist Nick Holmes states:
"Salvation embraces the belief in a higher power and seeking forgiveness for a lifetime of transgression, typically prompted by the approach of death or a significant crisis. However, the video, and given that it is Christmas, takes perhaps a more optimistic view.

“In Hindu philosophy, Kalki represents the final avatar who restores balance at the end of the age. That idea of breaking free from cycles—through self-realization, detachment from desires, and inner transformation—resonates deeply with me. ‘Avatar’ channels that journey toward liberation, something both powerful and universal.”

Following news of their new album, Nothing returns with a new song and video “purple strings”, which presents a different side of the band from the previously released "cannibal world".
