SUNBLEACHED SHARE DREAMY NEW SINGLE "MAYBE I'LL COME AROUND"
SUPPORTING SEAHAVEN (US) ACROSS THE EAST COAST NEXT MONTH
'STOP DESTROYING THE THINGS YOU LOVE' OUT FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER
VIA COMMUNITY MUSIC
Brisbane alt-rock outfit Sunbleached share their dreamy new track, "Maybe I'll Come Around" off their upcoming debut album, Stop Destroying The Things You Love, out Friday 18 September via Community Music. The band will launch it live this September when they join California emo rock icons Seahaven for their East Coast Australian tour, with tickets on sale now via Destroy All Lines.
Produced by Fletcher Matthews (Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle, Secret World), Stop Destroying The Things You Love is Sunbleached at their peak. "Pain Chamber" introduced the record’s expansive sound, pairing chugging guitars and intoxicating vocals before launching into the band’s signature blend of alt-rock and emo.
"Maybe I’ll Come Around" turns inward, exploring the familiar cycle of wanting someone who was never emotionally available and convincing yourself that whatever fragments of affection they offer are enough. "You know it's a bad idea, but the little bits of attention keep pulling you back in," says vocalist Josh Baker. "The whole thing is messed up and you recognise the pattern, but you ignore it anyway."
The new single follows both "Pain Chamber" and "Slow Burn", both of which have set the tone for Stop Destroying The Things You Love. Earlier singles "Rip" and "Stain" bridged the gap between their 2024 EP I Crawled Into The Hole, a nostalgic reflection on the band’s evolution that built upon the foundations established on their acclaimed 2023 debut, Delicate Places We Hide.
Since forming in 2020, Sunbleached have steadily built themselves up within Australia's alternative music landscape. Comprised of Josh Baker (vocals), Bradley Maddaford (guitar/backing vocals), Kaden Perkinson (bass), Brent Ottley (guitar) and Izaac Calrow (drums), the quintet emerged from previous musical projects with a shared goal of creating an authentic alternative rock project ripping inspiration from decades past, reimagined for the present.
Their rise has seen them join the Destroy All Lines roster, perform at BIGSOUND and New Bloom Festival, and share stages with the likes of Citizen, Movements, Holding Absence, Fleshwater, Touché Amoré, Boston Manor and Highly Suspect. Along the way, they've earned support from music media all over the world, and continue to impress with their masterfully emotional and deeply relatable songwriting.
Stop Destroying The Things You Love will be out Friday 18 September via Community Music.
