SUNBLEACHED SHARE ANGSTY NEWSINGLE + VIDEO"SLOW BURN"

Brisbane alt-rock outfit Sunbleached have unveiled their striking new single "Slow Burn", an angsty and immersive track exploring the blurry, undefined space between friendship and relationship, out everywhere now via Community Music.

Wasting no time introducing itself, "Slow Burn" is an instant earworm, bursting to life with a wall of sound before settling into the band's trademark blend of alt-rock and emo. Lyrically, the song captures that strange stage at the beginning of a new relationship where things feel right, despite neither person labelling it - constant texting, late night calls and early emotional investment, all while keeping things private and undefined.

Speaking on the track, vocalist Josh Baker explains: "The line 'crack myself in two for you' came from feeling split between real life and whatever version of myself existed inside a phone talking to somebody all the time. I wrote it from that feeling of being completely wrapped up in someone while still existing in this strange in-between space where nobody really knows what’s going on except the two people in it."

Produced by Fletcher Matthews (Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle, Secret World), "Slow Burn" showcases some of Sunbleached's most refined songwriting to date, and follows singles "Rip" and "Stain" which bridged the gap between their 2024 EP I Crawled Into The Hole, a nostalgic exploration of the band's evolution that built upon the foundations established on their acclaimed 2023 debut, Delicate Places We Hide.

Since forming in 2020, Sunbleached have steadily built themselves up within Australia's alternative music landscape. Comprised of Josh Baker (vocals), Bradley Maddaford (guitar), Kaden Perkinson (bass), Brent Ottley (guitar) and Izaac Calrow (drums), the quintet emerged from previous musical projects with a shared goal of creating an authentic alternative rock project ripping inspiration from decades past, reimagined for the present.

Their rise has seen them join the Destroy All Lines roster, perform at BIGSOUND and New Bloom Festival, and share stages with the likes of Citizen, Movements, Holding Absence, Fleshwater, Touché Amoré, Boston Manor and Highly Suspect. Along the way, they've earned support from music media all over the world, and continue to impress with their masterfully emotional and deeply relatable songwriting.

"Slow Burn" is out now and streaming everywhere via Community Music.
