KITTIE DROP NEW VIDEO FOR ‘DO YOU THINK I’M A WHORE? XXV’
Canadian Nu-Metal pioneers Kittie celebrate 25 years of their game-changing debut with the release of the Spit XXV EP, out today via Sumerian Records. Produced by Garth Richardson, who also helmed the original Spit sessions in 1999, the collection re-imagines four stand-out tracks that first propelled the band from Canadian teenagers to international heavyweights.
The EP is anchored by a brand new video for ‘Do You Think I’m A Whore? XXV’, directed by William Felch (Wombat Fire), which revisits one of Kittie’s most provocative songs with two and a half decades of sharpened perspective and intensity.
Speaking on the release, vocalist and guitarist Morgan Lander explains:
“We’re beyond excited to revisit and reimagine songs that started it all for us with Spit XXV. Re-recording these songs has been an emotional and empowering journey. It’s a chance to honour our roots while bringing a new level of energy and experience to the music.”
She continues:
“Do You Think I’m A Whore?’ has always been the dark horse of our debut album… Pair that with the unbelievable music video visuals from William Felch at Wombat Fire and it’s clear the track is finally getting its flowers.”
More than just a nod to nostalgia, Spit XXV underscores the lasting impact of Kittie’s debut—hailed by Rolling Stone in their “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Songs of All Time”—while proving the band’s continued dominance. Fresh off their acclaimed 2024 comeback album Fire and a Juno nomination, Kittie remain as vital and confrontational as ever.
