HEARTLINE SHARE NEW SINGLE "DEAD BATTERIES" FEAT. JOSH O'DONNELL OF BANKS ARCADE

Adelaide alternative metal quartet Heartline declare their return with new single "Dead Batteries", featuring guest vocals from Joshua O'Donnell of Banks Arcade.

“Dead Batteries” finds Heartline digging deeper into the frustrations of modern life: “A lot of us are at a point now where we’re just exhausted,” the band share. “Exhausted from working so hard just to get by - and the payoff is really just that - just getting by. It leaves us with an emptiness that’s easy to lose our heart in. Sometimes we need a restart and a re-wire to find that heart again, whether it’s through talking about it or even joking about it, like saying, ‘there’s more life in a dead battery than me right now.’ It’s something almost everyone relates to at one stage or another."

Produced by Sam Trott, engineered by Matt Cooper (Treetop Studios) and mixed and mastered by Jarred Nettle, “Dead Batteries” expands on the digital fusion of pop and metal Heartline explored on last year's EP Pink Lemonade. Weaving expansive EDM textures with soaring choruses and grinding guitar/bass, the new single pushes the band’s creativity while retaining their trademark energy.

Heartline release the new single not long after two showcases at BIGSOUND 2025, Australia’s largest music industry conference, where they performed to packed rooms of industry and fans alike from all across the nation. Following its release, the band will embark on a regional Australian run this October with Reliqa and Future Static, presented by Destroy All Lines. Since forming in 2019, Heartline - Luke Taylor (vocals), Nevenko Sarunic (bass), George Carey (guitar) and Oscar Taylor (drums) - have continuously shown themselves as an exciting and promising act to watch in the Australian alternative music scene. Last year's EP, 'Pink Lemonade', established a sound that seamlessly combined ripping and complex grooves with soaring melodies and irresistible dance elements, with a number of singles landing the band plays on triple j, Unearthed, community radio and editorial support across Spotify and Apple Music.

Their electric live sets have seen them share stages with the likes of The Word Alive (US), Holding Absence (UK), Dance Gavin Dance (US), Crossfaith (JPN), Paledusk (JPN), Thornhill, Windwaker, Short Stack and many more.

With a rapidly growing following and a sound that refuses to let up, Heartline continue to grow and level up with every release. “Dead Batteries” is available and streaming everywhere now.
