HARROWAY SHARE VENGEFUL NEW SINGLE "SECOND BEST"
Sydney metalcore up-and-comers Harroway unleash their bone-crushing new single "Second Best", arriving ahead of their upcoming shows supporting Inertia next weekend and Diamond Construct in August. Tickets are on sale now.
A devastating showcase of Harroway at their most ferocious, "Second Best" is a sonic demolition - a pulverising wrecking ball of savage vocals, slick riffage and manic electronics. Ripping into action from its first words, the track captures the fury and vengeance that follows grief, betrayal and the realisation that everything you gave was never enough.
"Second Best is about the feeling of dedicating everything you have to a person, relationship, or cause, only to discover you were always disposable," explains the band. "Written through the lens of a corrupt monarch and forgotten followers, the song explores betrayal, exploitation and the rage that follows when loyalty is repaid with abandonment. Every sacrifice, every ounce of faith and every part of yourself given in service is ultimately dismissed in favour of 'the next best thing'."
The new single was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator Mark Williamson at Keywork Audio, with additional pre-production and songwriting contributions from Oliver Smith (Inertia) and David De La Hoz (Wither/Belle Haven).
Since forming in 2019, Harroway have jumped from strength to strength, becoming an outlet for anyone grappling with their inner demons. Fusing crushing riffs with real emotion and lived experience, the three-piece continue to carve out a place in the heart of Australia’s heavy music scene, drawing deeply from personal struggles and mental health battles.
Their debut 2023 EP, 'I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore', resonated with fans globally and led to a sold-out headline tour that took the band across Australia. Harroway have since shared stages with some of the biggest names in heavy music, supporting We Came As Romans, Invent Animate, Fit For A King, Bury Tomorrow, Paleface Swiss, Bleed From Within, Make Them Suffer, Ocean Sleeper, Windwaker, Gravemind and many more.
With "Second Best", Harroway push their sound further into darker, heavier territory, delivering an uncompromising statement. Backed by relentless touring, a rapidly growing fanbase, and a reputation for commanding every stage they step onto, the trio establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with, and ready themselves for a mammoth next chapter.
