divedown SHARE NEW SINGLE "I WANT TO SEE IT ALL"
Melbourne alternative rock outfit divedown share their energetic new single "I Want To See It All", out today via Ninth Life Records. Their third release of the year, the track is a shift into brighter, pop-punk territory - for fans of The Story So Far.
Built around a driving rhythm section and a bouncy and infectious chorus, “I Want To See It All” captures the restlessness and yearning that comes with feeling stuck in one place. Vocalist Sam Bianco explains: "Just like the previous songs, subtlety isn't our strong suit and the lyrics kind of spell it out. It’s about feeling empty, lonely, and wanting to go out and experience the world but feeling like I'm not able to."
The single expands the sonic palette introduced on earlier releases "Blame Game" and "In My Head". Where their debut "Blame Game" delivered a punchy, pop-punk foundation and earned the band early success, follow-up single "In My Head" saw divedown exploring a moodier, heavier space, leaning into influences like Balance & Composure, Superheaven and Hundredth. "I Want To See It All" threads these worlds together.
Their July debut single, "Blame Game", received an overwhelmingly positive reception, landing on Spotify editorial playlists Fresh Finds and Local Noise as well as earning support from triple j Unearthed, triple j CORE and SYN FM, with rotation adds and daytime airplay giving the band a strong introduction. Their second single followed suit, with a first play on triple j and couple of 5 star reviews on Unearthed to boot.
While divedown is a new name, its members may be familiar. A supergroup of sorts within Melbourne’s alt community, the band brings together vocalist and guitarist Sam Bianco, guitarist Michael Romeo, bassist Josh Godwin, and drummer Jake Leahy, each with a background respectively in beloved local outfits like Set The Score, Weighbridge and Parkwood. Their signing to Ninth Life Records, already home to a small community of emerging alternative acts including Talk Heavy and Bad Neighbour, marked an early milestone for divedown.
With influences spanning The Story So Far, Free Throw, Movements, Citizen, Modern Color and more, divedown are ready to make some noise and leave their mark. "I Want To See It All" is out now and streaming everywhere via Ninth Life Records.
