DEFICIT SHARE LAST SINGLE "FINAL BOSS" OFF UPCOMING EP 'DEATHSTYLE'
Sydney-based nu-metal/hardcore outfit Deficit unleash their final single, "FINAL BOSS," ahead of their forthcoming EP DEATHSTYLE, dropping Friday 21 November. The announcement follows last week’s news that the band will join Fit For A King (US) and Boundaries (US) for an exclusive Sydney headline show this January. Tickets on sale via Destroy All Lines.
"FINAL BOSS is about perseverance," says the band. "It's about channeling the pain of growing up in environments that were suffocating, dysfunctional, and unsafe and transforming that struggle into strength. It's about the turmoil of trying to rise when everything around you seems built to hold you down, and the defiance it takes to turn those hardships into stepping stones. And it’s about refusing to be defined by the hand you were dealt and instead choosing to forge your own path, and staying focused on what it is you want in life through sheer strength of will. The "FINAL BOSS" is all of that portrayed as one singular foe that you have spent your entire life building and training yourself to overcome."
"FINAL BOSS" follows the release of single "FYA" in early September - a blistering collaboration with UNITYTX - and their title track "DEATHSTYLE", which introduced this next chapter.
With their upcoming EP, Deficit are set on solidifying their identity by introducing the term "DEATHSTYLE", a genre they’ve coined to capture the essence of their sound and ethos. "DEATHSTYLE is the very embodiment of Deficit's sound," says the band. "Death" refers to our roots in Metal, Hardcore, Death Metal, and Deathcore, while "Style" captures the groove, catchiness, and swagger that define our identity. It’s the definition of Deficit's own unique genre."
