THE DANDY WARHOLS ANNOUNCE ANZ TOUR

“The Dandy Warhols are a lifestyle, not a performance; an intoxicating and unpredictable band” NME

Renowned for their epic live shows, both sonically and visually, The Dandy Warhols will return to Australia and New Zealand this November and December for the Pin Ups tour.

Nearly three decades into a career built on doing things their own way, The Dandy Warhols continue to push into new territory. The tour will open with a special one-night-only collaboration alongside the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra at Hobart's Odeon Theatre, transforming songs from their remarkable catalogue into an immersive orchestral experience before the band returns to its trademark live show for the remainder of the tour, culminating with an appearance at the legendary Meredith Festival.

Following two acclaimed performances with the Oregon Symphony, The Dandy Warhols will bring their symphony concept to Australia for the very first time. Courtney Taylor-Taylor says of the collaboration, "The Oz tour is right around the corner and we are getting very pumped about it. This one starts in Tasmania with the Symphony there, that will be a mind expanding trip. Then we hit all our favourite cities, or most of them, including some New Zealand shows.

Then we end at Meredith festival, which we are told repeatedly is the coolest. There’s going to be a lot of amazing music, food, wine, and even wineries. We have always loved it down under which is why it’s been The Dandy Warhols second home for almost 3 decades."

The tour also celebrates the release of Pin Ups, the band's new covers album released earlier this year. Pin Ups is a carefully curated collection of music that helped shape The Dandy Warhols themselves, featuring their take on of songs by everyone from The Beatles, The Byrds, The Clash and Bob Dylan through to The Cure, Gang Of Four, The Cramps, The Cult,
The Damned, Marilyn Manson
 and more.

Compiled from tribute albums, bonus tracks, B-sides and previously unreleased recordings spanning the band's career, Pin Ups is as much a celebration of lifelong musical influences as it is a love letter to the artists who inspired them. As Courtney Taylor-Taylor explains, "Nearly every band we cover on here are friends of ours or artists we have had a meaningful experience with.”

Australia remains one of The Dandy Warhols' biggest and most devoted fan bases anywhere in the world, a relationship that stretches back to their first visit in 1998 and one that has only grown stronger with every return.

Over the last three decades, The Dandy Warhols have created one of modern music's most distinctive catalogues. Effortlessly blending psych-rock, shoegaze and synth-pop with an unmistakable swagger, they've consistently carved out a lane that is entirely their own.

From timeless anthems such as Bohemian Like YouWe Used To Be Friends and Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth, to their unmistakable visual aesthetic and continually evolving sound, The Dandy Warhols defined alternative rock at the turn of the millennium while continuing to influence new generations of artists.

One of the hardest working bands anywhere, they've graced stages everywhere from Glastonbury and Rock am Ring to Meltdown Festival, where they were personally selected by David Bowie, before later joining him on his A Reality Tour. Their story was further immortalised in the award-winning documentary Dig!, chronicling the legendary relationship between The Dandy Warhols and fellow psych-rock icons The Brian Jonestown Massacre

From an unforgettable orchestral collaboration in Hobart to a festival finale at Meredith, the Pin Ups tour will once again prove that The Dandy Warhols remain one of alt rock's most creative, adventurous and compelling live bands.
