ONES TO WATCH RETURNS TO BIGSOUND

Set to make its return to BIGSOUND this September, Live Nation’s ONES TO WATCH Backed By American Apparel is excited to add a new cohort of talented Australian artists to its growing stable of incredible musicians celebrated by the series.

The program, championing the next wave of Australian music excellence, arrives at BIGSOUND on Thursday 3rd September, a poignant event on the Live Nation calendar; being able to support and drive awareness around developing talent at the Southern Hemisphere’s largest event for music discovery.

The event is set to be hosted at The Outpost in the heart of Fortitude Valley, and will feature three performers including HOLLY HEBE (in an exclusive performance), ELI WAN and JEM-CASSAR DALEY.

Melbourne songwriter HOLLY HEBE has emerged as one of Australia’s brightest talents in recent years, such status cemented with her first-ever ARIA #1 with the release of her third EP, Mood Ring. Her first-ever appearance on the ARIA Charts, the record nabbed the #1 spot on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart in July. From the Mornington Peninsula, the indie-pop artist made her debut in 2020 and has not slowed down since; her sound is reminiscent of artists including Holly Humberstone and Clairo, winning audiences right around the country.

Making his debut in 2025 with his insatiable single ‘pixeldust+18’, Brisbane’s ELI WAN has embraced a prolific rise in a short period of time. Growing up on a bed of influences that include music by Porter Robinson, The Avalanches, Jai Paul and more, ELI WAN has become renowned for his own ability to build magnetic soundscapes that evoke warmth, emotion and excitement. Raised between Korean and Australian cultures, the artist’s music has explored the tension of being “both seen and unseen” in a digital age.

Award-winning Gumbaynggirr Bundjalung indie-pop artist JEM-CASSAR DALEY has built an impressive body of work since her debut in 2022, with the I Don’t Know Who To Call EP landing to industry acclaim. JEM CASSAR-DALEY’s ability to weave a natural talent for storytelling together with soulful delivery and vocal talent has made her one of the country’s most loved new names. Her debut album Tattoos Used To Come Off In The Pool, released this August, is testament to her evolved brand of songwriting and performance.

Emily Taylor and Paul Lynch, Promoters, Live Nation Australia said:

ONES TO WATCH is about finding emerging artists we genuinely believe in and giving them opportunities to connect with new audiences at important moments in their careers. BIGSOUND takes that opportunity to another level, giving artists the chance to perform in front of some of the most influential people from across the music industry. We’re incredibly excited about this year’s lineup — Holly Hebe, Eli Wan and Jem Cassar-Daley are three artists we’re really excited about, and we can’t wait to see them take the stage. It’s also been great to continue building our partnership with American Apparel® and work together to create more opportunities for upcoming Australian talent.”
