MORTAL SIN 40 YEARS OF AUSSIE THRASH
Australia’s greatest ever thrash band, Mortal Sin, celebrate 40 years of mayhem in 2026!
Mortal Sin’s place in thrash metal history is undisputed and 2026 will see them celebrate their career like never before.
40 years since the release of Mayhemic Destruction.
20 years since the release of An Absence of Faith.
15 years since the release of Psychology of Death.
2026 also sees them return to the stage for the first time since 2011!
Mortal Sin in 2026 will see the return of original members Mat Maurer (vocals) and
Andy Eftichiou (bass), with Nathan Shea (guitar) and Ryan Huthnance (guitar) returning to the line-up. The guys are excited to welcome Sydney drummer George Delinicolis of LIVEWIRE and Bastardizer to join them on road too!
Mat explains, “We’ve talked about it on and off for years, but if 40 years of Mayhemic Destruction wasn't the perfect time to reunite - then I don't know what would have been. I’ve spent the last few years framing all of our tour posters and photos and there’s so many great memories, and anytime I bump into people at gigs the first question is always when is the band getting back together?”
Andy adds, “Picking up the bass again for Mortal Sin after all these years feels like coming home—loud, chaotic, and a hell of a lot of fun. We’ve still got something to say, and I can’t wait to hit the stage with the boys and bring that energy back to the fans.”
Kicking this off with the highly anticipated appearance at Froth & Fury Fest in Adelaide on January 31 and hitting cities all over the nation until June, the 40th Anniversary Tour will continue throughout the year with further dates added including some major dates internationally. So keep an eye out for a show near you.
Expect to hear all the classics that span the bands full catalogue!
Check out the new lyric video for Mayhemic Destruction, the title track from their debut album.
Recording for the album began at Sydney’s Studio 301 on Friday, July 25 1986, the rest is history.
