COG ANNOUNCE THE RETURN OF THEIR ICONIC HOLIDAY SHOWS
FRESH OUT OF THE STUDIO, COG WILL CLOSE OUT 2026 PERFORMING IN BOOVAL, SUNSHINE COAST & BYRON BAY THIS DECEMBER
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS KODIAK EMPIRE
ELKO FIELDS (QLD SHOWS ONLY) + JACKRABBIT (BYRON BAY ONLY)
After wrapping up a successful run of shows earlier this year in support of their latest single Walk The Line, Aussie rock trio COG have been holed up at Key Sound Studios in Bryon Bay working on new material throughout 2026.
But now as the days get longer and summer starts to call, it's time for the band to dust off the cobwebs and announce the return of their annual iconic holiday shows!
Set to perform on Friday 11 December in Booval, COG will then head to the Sunshine Coast on Saturday 12 December, and finish up with a show close to home on Friday 18 December in Byron Bay. Supported by special guests Kodiak Empire for all three dates, Elko Fields will open in Booval and the Sunshine Coast, with Jackrabbit kicking things off in Byron Bay. These special performances will mark COG's last performances for the year while also guaranteeing nights of pure potent rock'n'roll passion from some of the country's finest.
Emerging in the late 90s, COG's enduring legacy on the heavy music landscape has traversed decades, global touring, and a jubilant reunion back in 2016. Via their early EPs, 2000's Pseudo, and part one and part two of 2002's Just Visiting, the behemoth reputation of the Sydney-hailing trio would firmly cement in 2005 in the form of their debut full-length The New Normal. From here, COG took the world by storm, relentlessly touring Australia, embarking on overseas runs, igniting stages at Big Day Out, Falls Festival and Homebake, alongside adding a stellar second album release to their repertoire in the form of the certified Gold 2008 opus Sharing Space.
Never ones to rest on their laurels, COG emerged from a five year hiatus in 2016, with an entirely sold out comeback tour across Australia that same year - and some new music soon followed in 2018 via the band's first new material in a decade: The Middle. From here, COG have continued to expand their creative spirit, releasing two additional singles, Altered States and Drawn Together, while also remaining active on the touring circuit, including headlining The Other Festival and Thrashville in 2023.
Reaching a milestone in 2023, COG's long road to finally releasing their albums on vinyl spanned a 15 year uphill battle, with the group locked into a contract and awaiting resolution ever since delivering Sharing Space to their label in 2008. And finally armed with complete ownership of the rights to all of their music, the pressing of COG's sonic legacy onto vinyl also sparked a huge headline run in 2024 with the majority of shows sold out.
Concluding 2025 with a run of shows in Queensland and New South Wales in honour of their new single Walk The Line, which was added to rotation on Double J and received praise from critics and fans alike, COG kickstarted 2026 touring through Western Australia, New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria. Now having spent time quietly in the studio working on new material this year, COG will draw 2026 to a close with the return of their iconic annual holiday shows.
