THE BEAUTIFUL MONUMENT ANNOUNCE FIRST ALBUM IN SEVEN YEARS
Alternative emo-rock favourites The Beautiful Monument have announced their long-awaited third album, Euphoric Thriller, arriving Friday 7 August via Greyscale Records. Alongside the announcement, the band today unveil the record’s title track, offering another glimpse into their first album in over seven years.
The announcement follows recent singles "Dancing with the Buried" and "Cry About It", both now revealed as part of the upcoming album. Together, the tracks signalled a refreshed new direction for the Australian four-piece while still holding tight to the abrasive authenticity fans have come to love.
Euphoric Thriller is self-described as an emotional rollercoaster and a collection of unreleased diary entries pulled from deeply personal experiences, navigating grief, identity, survival and the reality of existing in a world fuelled by ignorance. "From dealing with the grief of not only physical loss, but the emotional battle that is existing in this world as a minority and navigating our way through the uphill battle of hate and bigotry from the society that surrounds us… but make it a party." tells vocalist Lizi McIntosh. "If we don’t laugh we cry - so why not have a good time while internally wallowing in the fiery pits of hell that is the current state of the world."
Title track and new single, "Euphoric Thriller", has a sultry edge, seeing Lizi deliver a commanding vocal performance that glides through seductive verses before building into a guitar solo and a soaring, climactic final chorus. The single perfectly encapsulates the heated relationship between a person and their depression. "It lulls you into a false sense of security and makes you believe that you are not you without it; but deep down you know you need to run."
The Beautiful Monument have spent the last twelve months writing, recording and perfecting some of their favourite tracks to date, with the help of producer Chris Lalic (Windwaker, RinRin, Headwreck). They've taken the opportunity to reconnect with the love they have for the band and each other.
Honing their craft with honest lyricism and emotive delivery, The Beautiful Monument have paved a reputation for crafting anthems for anyone who has ever felt beautifully broken. The quartet - Lizi McIntosh [vocals], Amy McIntosh [bass], Alex Manhire [guitar] and Adam Pinzone [drums] dive deep into life's messy bits - grief, mental health, love gone wrong, and all the feels.
The band are currently midway through an Australian tour supporting Hellions, with final shows this week in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. They left a lasting impression playing main support for gothic rock icons Evanescence (US), performing in arenas nationwide, and have toured alongside the likes of Escape The Fate (US), Sleeping With Sirens (US), Short Stack, RedHook and more. Festival appearances include Good Things Festival, Download Festival and UNIFY Gathering among others, and in October 2026 they’ll set sail on Destroy All Lines’ HELLBOUND CRUISE.
'Euphoric Thriller' the album will be out Friday 7 August via Greyscale Records. Its title track is out now and streaming everywhere.
