CIVILIANS PARTNER WITH EQUAL VISION RECORDS FOR AUSTRALIA

Legendary New York-based independent rock label Equal Vision Records has officially partnered with Melbourne’s Civilians, marking an exciting new chapter for both companies. The partnership launches with major releases from two of Equal Vision’s most celebrated acts, Hail The Sun and Armor For Sleep, as the labels work together to grow Equal Vision’s footprint in Australia.

"I am incredibly thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Civilians team in Australia," says Equal Vision’s Daniel Sandshaw"This collaboration holds particular significance for me, as it is rooted in a friendship that spans decades. It's a truly great feeling to align with a group of genuine music fans who share our passion. We are very much looking forward to working closely with them to further develop our catalog and presence in the Australian territory."

Equal Vision’s reputation speaks for itself. For over three decades, the label has been a launchpad for game-changing artists including Converge, Pierce The Veil, Coheed & Cambria, Circa Survive, Hail The Sun, and Waterparks, consistently shaping the sound of modern rock and post-hardcore.

"I have always admired Equal Vision for their taste and for how they conduct themselves as a label," says Civilians Stu Harvey. "For more than 30 years Equal Vision has introduced the world to artists who go on to define genres. Partnering with Equal Vision to expand their presence in Australia is an honour. We like to work with people who put their heads down and work hard for their artists. That’s Dan, Steph, and the rest of the Equal Vision team in a nutshell."

The first fruits of the partnership arrive this October with the release of Hail The Sun’s seventh studio album cut. turn. fade. backon Friday 24 October via Equal Vision/Civilians. Produced by Pete Adams and Grammy Award-winner Johnny Kosich (Kendrick Lamar) and mixed by Zakk Cervini (blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon), the album explores life, death and critical social issues.
Meanwhile, New Jersey post-hardcore veterans Armor For Sleep return with upcoming album There Is No

Memory set to arrive Friday 7th November, now available for pre-save, pre-add, and pre-order here. The first offering since 2022’s acclaimed The Rain Museum, There Is No Memory was recorded with Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada, Between You and Me) and is a collection of songs that force the listener to question the very nature of their existence, of what makes us the people we are. While The Rain Museum was a record written in the throes of the dissolution of the Armor For Sleep frontman Ben Jorgensen’s eight-year marriage and his subsequent divorce, its setting was more fictional and metaphorical. By comparison, There Is No Memory is much more literal, much more grounded in the real world, and much closer to the bone.

cut.turn.fade.black by Hail The Sun will be available Friday 24th October, and There Is No Memory by Armor For Sleep will be available Friday 7th November via Equal Vision/Civilians.
