BREACH SHARE NOSTALGIC NEW SINGLE "COLD"+ ANNOUNCE DEBUT SELF-TITLED EP

Featuring members of Comeback Kid and Misery Signals, BREACH return with their nostalgic new single "COLD", and announce their self-titled debut EP, BREACH, out Friday 30 October via Greyscale Records.

"COLD" dives further into the band's exploration of nu-metal, hardcore and industrial metalcore, mixing eerie, 90s-inspired soundscapes with deep, rumbling vocals. The single digs into inherited pain and the scars left behind by a parent, confronting the cycle of hurt that can be passed from one generation to the next. It's about growing up with wounds buried beneath religion, "teaching" and misplaced ideas of forgiveness.

"The tragedy is that sometimes a person who spends their entire childhood being hurt becomes so consumed by that pain that they begin to pass it on," says the band. "They project their anger, their fear, their hatred, and their tortured sense of self onto someone else. The cycle continues and suddenly the victim becomes the one causing the damage. COLD is about confronting that cycle. About the terrifying realization that being hurt doesn’t make you incapable of hurting others. You have to open yourself up to understanding that pain. And that, at some point, you have to decide whether you’re going to carry the pain you were given, or finally put it down before it becomes someone else’s."

"COLD" follows BREACH's unsettling debut single "PARASITE", which introduced the band's sound and ethos, exploring emotional manipulation and the experience of being repeatedly diminished by someone you love.

Together, the two singles offer a first look at BREACH, a six-track EP formed around themes that hit close to home for the band, drawing from their own experiences and those of the people closest to them. Across the record, BREACH explore growing up in broken homes, struggles with self-confidence and mental health, and the experiences that have shaped them. 

Drawing influence from The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, Deftones, Crosses, Orthodox, Justice For The Damned, Whitechapel, thrown and The Chariot, BREACH break from the traditional confines of heavy music, injecting hardcore, industrial metal and metalcore into a sound forged through years of experience. The result is sonically tense, crushing, nostalgic, eerie and bleak.

The band's foundations were laid in late 2024, when drummer Terrance Pettitt and guitarist Cole Hardy reunited with a shared goal to return to their roots and write the kind of heavy music that first inspired them to pick up instruments. Having spent more than a decade collaborating across multiple projects alongside bassist Kyle Marchant, the trio spent months refining ideas before Marchant officially joined in 2025 to help shape the material and produce the band's upcoming self-titled debut EP. Vocalist Luke Snider completed the lineup towards the end of 2025, helping to define the band's first six songs before Comeback Kid guitarist Stuart Ross joined after hearing the project while on tour, cementing BREACH's impressive lineup.
