BIG NOTER ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM 'SONGS IN THE KEY OF WRESTLING'
BIG NOTER have today revealed details of their debut album, Songs In The Key Of Wrestling, arriving September 18 via Island Records Australia. The announcement comes with the release of new single 'F.M.D' and a quick run of headline dates this August and September.
LISTEN TO F.M.D HERE.
Fronted by Yorta Yorta icon Briggs, BIG NOTER is the sound of frustration given volume. Fusing hardcore, punk and metal with the same directness and conviction that made Briggs one of Australia's most respected voices, the band has quickly established itself as one of the country's most vital new heavy acts.
Produced by Nick Didia (Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam), “F.M.D” takes aim at the lazy myths and deep-seated racism that continue to shape conversations about Aboriginal people in Australia. It's a track fuelled by anger, exhaustion and the absurdity of having to continually defend lived realities.
On the song, Briggs says: "Your average Australian (racist) comment section will have you believe Aboriginal people have FREE Californian bungalows and a Hilux in the driveway.
Here's the list of things blackfullas get for free: Diabetes, Heart Disease, Incarceration, Suicide, unemployment and that's just the top 5. Nothing given, only taken away! So look, if you're sick of hearing about it; imagine how we feel?! FMD!"
With Songs In The Key Of Wrestling set to land on September 18, BIG NOTER will hit the road for three headline shows, taking over Crowbar in Brisbane & Sydney, plus a Melbourne show at The Tote on September 19.
Songs In The Key Of Wrestling is a debut album that arrives with purpose. This is Australian heavy music that confronts uncomfortable truths head-on.
“F.M.D” IS OUT NOW.
