BAD NEIGHBOUR SHARE NEW SINGLE "I CAN'T LOOK FOR YOU" + ANNOUNCE HEADLINE SHOW
Brisbane indie pop punk outfit Bad Neighbour share new single "I Can't Look For You" via Ninth Life Records and announce their Brisbane headline show at The Outpost on Saturday 13th December.
"I Can't Look For You" explores the dark-indie-rock territory that became the foundation of Bad Neighbour's debut album, Millions, released late last year. It was written after they wrapped a short run of shows in March with Sweet Pill (US) across Australia, and at its core it's a song that feels emotionally disillusioned and lost. "We always write based on where we are emotionally and in our collective lives in general," says vocalist Cooper Riley. "It’s about separating yourself from things and places that aren't aligned with where you need to be or where you are going and learning to not squeeze the life out of things that you love. A lot of it is about crippling alcoholism as well - while I haven’t personally dealt with it I have been exposed to so much of it in my life and how it can bring the worst out in people."
From the sun-soaked streets of Brisbane, Bad Neighbour is Cooper Riley (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Zoe Middleton (lead guitar/vocals), Liam Sumner (bass/vocals) and Jack Parkes (drums). The quartet came together off the back of shared musical interests and combined motivation to tread their own sonic ground inspired by the likes of PUP, Modern Baseball and The Menzingers. The last year saw Bad Neighbour release their debut album Millions. Tracks 20,000 knife fights, In The Car, And The Fleas, Heart Pumps Blood and The Middle helped the album clock well over 150,000 Spotify streams before the album had even released and established Bad Neighbour as rough-around-the-edges punk, embellished with a distinctly emo flair. The Millions album is a testament to the bands evolution as artists and their ability to craft songs that resonate on a personal level.
Bad Neighbour’s relentless commitment to their craft has seen them share stages with some of the industry's finest, carving out a name as one of Brisbane's most exciting live acts and solidifying themselves as 'ones to watch' as they joined the Destroy All Lines roster. The quartet have recently played shows across Australia supporting the likes of The Smith Street Band, Motion City Soundtrack (US), Mom Jeans (US) and Microwave (US), Spanish Love Songs (US), Hot Mulligan (US) and Free Throw (US), Badflower (US) and took to the big stages at New Bloom Festival in March last year as well as Good Things Festival in December.
They'll launch their new single live at their end of year headline show at The Outpost in Brisbane on Saturday 13th December, supported by Wifecult and Pornstar Supercar. "I Can't Look For You" is out now and streaming everywhere via Ninth Life Records.
