ALT. RELEASE THEIR NEW CONCEPT EP 'NEVERMORE' OUT TODAY
Adelaide alternative metal quintet alt. today share their dark new concept EP, Nevermore, out today via Resist Records (AU) and SharpTone Records (ROW). The band will celebrate the release with a hometown launch show at Lion Arts Factory on Saturday 20th June.
Set in 2073, Nevermore unfolds in a world ravaged by war, corruption and greed. As the wealthy flee a dying Earth, the rest are left to fight for survival and a chance to reach the promised new world of Nephilim. But beneath its surface lies the same darkness that destroyed the old world, pushing the story’s unnamed protagonist toward revolution in a bid to break humanity’s destructive cycle.
Produced, mixed and mastered by Callan Orr (Dream On Dreamer, Hands Like Houses), Nevermore features singles "They’ve Always Lived In The Castle", "Sucker Punch", and the recently released "Passage" - all leaning into ideas of systemic control, imbalance of power and the boiling point that follows suppression.
Since emerging in late 2019, alt. have quickly built a devoted following through their fusion of punk, pop, electronic and alternative rock. Their debut EP dysfunctional has amassed millions of streams, propelling the band onto national tours and support slots with Don Broco, Enter Shikari, Saosin, Dayseeker, Karnivool, Cog, Windwaker and more.
In 2022, alt. signed with Resist Records and SharpTone Records, ushering in a darker era that led to their 2023 debut album ABEYANCE. Featuring collaborations with Jack Bergin, Marcus Bridge and Landon Tewers, the record cemented their genre-blurring identity. Their followup single "Conversations That Hurt", co-written with John Floreani, highlighted their melodic dexterity. Since their inception, alt. have sold out national headline runs, headlined a night of Unify Gathering, performed at Froth and Fury Fest, Unify Off the Record and have featured on BBC Radio 1.
Nevermore is out everywhere now via Resist Records and SharpTone Records. Tickets for alt.'s upcoming launch show on sale now.
